Hello class,
For the
final blog posting I will be summarizing my experiences in this course and
discuss how it has assisted my well bing and my ability to assist others.
1.
Review
your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual
well being. Reflect on these areas. How did you score yourself on a scale from
1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or
why not?
A.
Physical
well-being: in unit three I had reviewed myself as
a 5 on my physical well-bing, however, now I would give myself a 7. It’s not much but it is progress. The reason why the score has changed is because
the dedication that I have been doing.
For example, counting calories, walking every other day, and drinking
more water than soda.
B.
Spiritual
well-being: in unit three I had given myself a 7 on
my spiritual well-being. For the most
part this number is still the same. The
reason why this number still remains the same is because my lack of motivation
to move forward on my spiritual aspect, however, I do have some friends that
have countable on this part of my life, so I hope in the next few months this
number will increase.
C.
Psychological
well-being: in unit three this number was an 8,
now I would give myself a 9. The reason
for the number going up is because of my dedication to meditation and
motivational speaking audio tapes. I do
my best practice the loving kindness exercise in my daily life.
2. Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area.
Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
A.
Physical goal: in unit three I had mentioned that I want to exercise at least 4
times a week for about 30 minutes, however, I haven’t been doing this due to
work and school. Now that I see my
physical goal all over again, I plan to start up and fulfill this goal.
B. Spiritual goal: my goal was to continue praying and to get into the habit of
mediating. I would say that my
meditation has gotten better but the praying part still needs some work.
C.
Psychological goal: in unit three my goal was to learn how
to express my thoughts better and to deal with unresolved anger. I must admit these two aspects of my life
have gotten much better. I’m able to
express myself to others and my anger level has dropped considerably since unit
three blog post.
3.
Have you implemented
the activities you chose for your well-being in each of the three areas?
Explain. Some of the activities/exercise that I mentioned
in my unit three blog were the following:
·
Walking up stairs, carrying grocery
rather pushing a cart, and dancing.
·
Joining a spiritual group, attend a
bible study, and spend some listening to motivational speaking.
·
Develop a mental exercise program and
listen to peaceful music.
For the most part I would say that I
have implemented most of these activities and exercises in all three areas of
human well-being. For example, I’ve been
walking up stairs more often, I’ve been listening to motivational speaking and
peaceful music, and I’ve been doing plenty of meditation and mental exercises.
4.
Summarize your
personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved
well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this
experience improve your ability to assist others? My
personal experience throughout this course has been phenomenal because this
class has shown me how to grow in different areas in my life (physical,
spiritual, and psychological). For the
most part I would say that I have improved in my well-being because my time
spent meditating and expressing myself to others in a more peaceful way. The best reward so far would be my controlled
anger and letting go of unwanted bitterness in the past. The most difficult aspects that I have
encountered so far are the physical fitness portions of my goal. Finally, the way that this experience will
improve my ability to assist others is by sharing with others what I have
learned and the way I live my life will have an impact on others. In addition, I plan on setting a work out
plan with few of my friends that way my friends and myself can be more physically
fit.
The great thing about life is that we can make slight changes that can greatly improve our quality of life. Nothing happens over night, so taking it one step at a time is a healthy and long-lasting approach. Good for you on implementing those exercises and new techniques into your life and may you continue to see the benefits of them.

Hello Daniel. Congratulations on your growth thus far. My progress has been slow as well and I think it will continue to be a slow process because our needs and goals are always changing as we develop. It is difficult to find the time to implement extra activities into an already managed time schedule. I think your plan for future growth is perfect. I plan on adding in some extra practices on our break between terms. This way I will see if there are new exercises that seem to be more beneficial to me for faster results in all areas. I wish you all the best of luck in your future!

It is great that you have started to chance certain habits to be healthier like walking up stairs, walking everyother day, and drinking more water. Small steps are good progress to making more change. I also think that doing meditation often is beneficial to you reaching your goals that you have set for yourself. Keep up the good work!
